Suzanne Lockhart - CEO of Biometric Consulting Group

Suzanne Lockhart is a criminologist with extensive practical and theoretical experience of the Australian criminal justice system spanning twenty years, specializing in biometrics, identity crime and identity management in mission critical public and private sector organizations.

She has been a sworn member of the Victoria Police and the Australian Federal Police (AFP), Melbourne Airport. She has a Criminal Justice Administration degree and a M.A. Criminology degree from the University of Melbourne which researched the alignment between organizational requirements and end user perspectives of biometric technology.

She has specialized training in biometrics, criminal profiling and identity crime and is undertaking an Australian Research Council and AUSTRAC sponsored PhD researching identity crime solutions, biometrics; displacement effects and diffusion of benefits.

Suzanne has extensive knowledge of the biometrics industry both in Australia and overseas and strong affiliations with international research institutions and close contact with many public and private sector organizations. She has presented and published papers on identity crime, maritime crime, crime terrorism convergence and biometrics locally and internationally.

Suzanne is the Australian representative on the International Organisation for Standards (ISO) SC37 Working Group 6, Cross Jurisdictional and Societal Issues committee, is a member of the Australian Biometrics Institute Technical Committee, is an identity strategist consultant for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Biometrics in Machine Readable Travel Documents Mobility Working Group and sits on several high level government identity management strategy working groups including the Opal Group and the Standards Australia Known Customer Standard discussion group.

Suzanne consults and provides industry training in the area of biometrics, identity crime, identity management and homeland security for academic institutions and public and private sector organizations.
